Pastor Kelly Backstrom and his wife Jan have been married since 1983 and have three children. Krista, their oldest, is married to Ricky Ortiz and they are studying for the ministry in Florida. Their oldest son, Brett, is going to college at Washington State University (WSU) in Pullman and their youngest son, Sean, is in fifth grade. Kelly enjoys family, sports (especially NASCAR), boating, reading and having fun in life!

In 2004 Kelly responded to God's call to take the position of Lead Pastor at River Rock, after acting as Plant Manager for a large window company in the Northwest. Kelly previously served as a Youth Pastor for seven years at a church in the Seattle area where he also trained for the ministry.
